Raleigh, NC. Darlene Whitehurst, local business owner, announced today that she has initiated a nation wide personal development effort called “Goal Matters.” Goal Matters helps individuals and organizations establish and implement important goals through its website http://www.goalmatters.com. The Goal Matters website encourages self development through goal journals and the leadership of its member bloggers.
Whitehurst’s vision is to encourage individuals and organizations. Her hope is that the resource site will compliment lives by encouraging personal development, dreams and goal setting, and will help people find their passion and purpose in order to maximize their life’s journey. Whitehurst says, “The process of establishing a clear vision not only helps you achieve your dreams and goals, it improves your self image, enhances your journey and directs you toward the life you were born to lead. Through this process, journey and evolution, you will also discover the desire to give back for all that you have achieved and received.”
Whitehurst has been involved with “Women With Wine,” an inspirational women’s group for a year now. The organization just celebrated its first year together. Whitehurst surprised the group with a gift of journals one day and was so moved by the group’s response that she decided to move forward in the support of others.
Whitehurst has created and donated a series of goals journals in support of many causes to date.
Whitehurst’s current journal donation is to the 2nd Annual “Think Pink” Fundraiser on June 5th 2010 at Zely & Ritz on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh at 8pm. Like last year, it will be a 4 course wine paired dinner with 20% of the profits from dinner and 100% of profits from the raffle and silent auction going towards the Raleigh Susan G Komen Chapter.
The effort has been initiated in memorial of Whitehurst’s mother, Sharon Gustafson, who recently lost her battle with cancer.
