Gabriel Whaley, a 21 year old from North Carolina is the perfect example of setting a 24k goal of giving back. He was listed in the recent September 19th issue of People Magazine for an organization that he founded called Kicking4Hunger.
Excerpt from the article: “When he was a kid, Gabriel Whaley’s parents had a hard time sending him to soccer camp because they couldn’t afford the admission fee. In 2006, when he was a junior in high school, Gabriel started his own soccer camp—and an encouraged canned good donation was the only admission cost. That year, more than 70 children attended the camp and raised more than 1,500 pounds of canned good for a local food bank. To date, Kicking4Hunger (Kicking4Hunger.org) soccer camps have raised more than 16,000 pounds of food while allowing more than 1,000 to attend a soccer camp.”
