The Domino Effect Part Two: 7 Steps to Putting my Goals into Action I tend to be an obsessive list maker anyway, so the first time I wrote down my goals it was on three pages of yellow legal pad paper. I had them all neatly compartmentalized by topics: Family and my girls Health House Finances Work Travel Hobbies Spiritual growth At first, my overzealous list of goals seemed like a long wish list with little check boxes beside them, but then I taped the three pages to my bathroom mirror and something magical began to happen. Each time I brushed my teeth and put on my make-up there was that long list of things I wanted to accomplish. With every brush stroke I was forced to ponder how was I going to make it happen, and that’s when I realized that every goal matters. Writing my goals was just the...

Author: Angela Semwogerere Where Are You Heading - by Angela Semwogerere It was my final year in high school and it must have been around 5:45 pm on a Friday afternoon when Isabella and I sat out on the lawn as we waited for the school supper. We began a casual conversation about the fast approaching A -level exams when she turned and asked me the dreaded question. “So Angie, what are you going to be in the future?” Once again I was forced to confront a question I had been avoiding most of my young adult life. “Surely, at 18 years old I should have had a clear answer to this question” so I thought to myself. “What on earth do I want to do with my life?” I questioned myself silently but still, the answer never seemed to come. With boldness and conviction, stick a fork into the GOALS you want by being decisive.  You are born with great capabilities, but you will not achieve your potential until you call upon yourself to fulfill it. You will rise to the occasion when it presents itself; yet, to assure self-fulfillment, you must provide occasions to rise to.  Clearly defined goals allow you to travel toward another horizon that represents the end of one experience and the transition to a new and better existence.  The objective is to choose the right goals, and then to create the necessary causes—the effects will follow!  The DIFFERENCE between what one person and another achieves depends more on goal CHOICES than on...

Author: Angela Semwogerere My personal story Almost four and a half years ago, like most 26 year olds, life seemed to be fairly good. I had a job, great friends, amazing family, could afford to pay bills, so I could honestly say that I was fairly happy with the life I had created for myself. However towards the last quarter of 2006 I started to develop a nagging pain in my lower back. I did not think anything of it and simply resorted to taking mild pain killers whenever the pain really got to me. After all, what should I expect when I sit in front of the PC all day? However, by the end of December the pain had started really becoming more than the usual nagging pain and the mild pain killers did not seem to have the same effect they previously had. So I made a decision to pay...
